The area around the Kasar Devi ridge is home to a unique sacred and natural heritage. Ancient stone temple complexes dedicated to Uma and Shiva dot the various valleys.Varying altitudes support a variety of flora and fauna, and village trails allow guests to experience these elements up-close.The area is also home to a thriving leopard population which, with luck, can be spotted at sunset setting out for prey.

The Kumaon is designed by award-winning Sri Lankan architects Pradeep Kodikara, a disciple of Geoffrey Bawa, and his partner Jineshi Samaraweera, who have translated the ethos of tropical modernism into a unique mountain design.The property offers ten luxury suites, a library, a sun lounge and a gourmet restaurant. All buildings are constructed and situated with sensitivity to their natural environment, allowing guests to feel immersed in nature.Rotating walls of glass maximise and frame views of forests, terraces and mountain peaks. Nearly all elements of the construction are hand-made on site, with a particular emphasis on self-design and fabrication.

7-day Change of Heart Refund Policy: We always have one deal better than the other. So we understand your change of heart. Within 7 days of purchase we’ll happily give you an option to cancel your booking, with a full refund, as long as the cancellation date is at least 30 days prior to the arrival date. For cancellations after 7 days of a purchase, the hotel’s cancellation policy and penalty applies.

Hotel Cancellation Policy: A cancellation 7 days prior to the date of arrival will incur a 100% payment. A cancellation between 7-14 days prior to the date of arrival will incur a 50% payment.

Maximum Guest Capacity: The maximum room capacity is two adults and two children (below 12 years) or 3 adults.See the ‘Extra Guest Policy’ and ‘Child Policy’ for more details.

Extra Guest Policy: 1 adult may stay at a surcharge of INR 3500 + 28% GST.

The Kumaon is approximately 397 kilometres from Delhi airport. Flights for Delhi are available from all the major domestic airports in India. Transportation can be arranged for an additional surcharge from the airport and Kathgodam Railway Station.
