The property – Local Hospitality and Modern Luxuries 

A short drive from the Turia entry gate of Pench National Park, nestled under the same shady trees that inspired Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book’ is the Vannraj resort and spa by Ayana. 

Located within 22 acres of deciduous forest, the lodge blends in with the surrounding landscape and indigenous vegetation with minimal impact on the surrounding flora and fauna.

It is a harmonious blend of muted earthy colours, sloped, tiled roofs and spacious indoor and outdoor spaces that ensure privacy and provide a with the nature. The central attraction of this heavenly resort is the large pool deck area that is placed centrally on a well-manicured lawn. The interior tells a story of local culture. Every cottage has high pitched sloping roofs with Mangalorean tiles. Traditional Cottage - 18-25 sq. m.

Inspired by native architecture, these cottages have high pitched sloping roofs with Mangalorean tiles. The open verandah is reminiscent of outdoor spaces in traditional villages and gives guests their own gateway to the natural landscape.

7-day Change of Heart Refund Policy: We always have one deal better than the other. So we understand your change of heart. Within 7 days of purchase we’ll happily give you an option to cancel your booking, with a full refund, as long as the cancellation date is at least 30 days prior to the arrival date. For cancellations after 7 days of a purchase, the hotel’s cancellation policy and penalty applies.

Hotel Cancellation Policy: A minimum of 20% will be payable on any cancellation.

Maximum Guest Capacity: The maximum room capacity for Traditional Cottage and Machan Cottage is two adults and one child or three adults. The maximum room capacity for Vannraj Villa is four adults and one child or five adults. See the ‘Extra Guest Policy’ and ‘Child Policy’ for more details.

Extra Guest Policy: One adult (aged 13 or older) may stay for a surcharge of INR 3000 per night.

Child Policy: One child (aged 5 or younger) may stay free of charge. One child (aged between 6 and 12) may stay for a surcharge of INR 2000 per night.

Services

Safari: The safari experience is integral to what Vannraj offers. Their naturalist has an unparalleled understanding of the local flora and fauna. With the naturalist, the park comes alive and everything from a porcupine quill to a tiger's footprint becomes part of an incredible narrative of survival. Safaris are all conducted in state-of-the-art four-wheel drives, which are least intrusive to the flora and fauna.

The morning drive starts at dawn and usually lasts for about 4 hours. The evening drive is shorter. With advanced notice, exclusive drives and full day drives can also be arranged. The park is closed on Wednesday evenings.

Pench is nothing but a destination heaven. Planned and located away from the hustle-bustle of the city and civilization; it showcases the real ethnicity of wildlife at Pench national park both during day and night. Experiencing a safari at Pench national park hours will give you some unforeseen moments and magnificent memories.

Wildlife Photography Workshop: The young naturalists are also expert wildlife photographers. They are always eager to showcase their spectacular collection of some very rare moments captured in the wild and will ensure that you return from the forest with your own magical moments captured in time.

Jungle Walks: A jungle walk is an exciting way to explore the nearby buffer area of the forest. Embark on an unforgettable expedition on foot within the protected area in the company of our naturalist who will not only guide you through the walk but will help you identify the various species of flora and fauna particular to the area. Embrace your inner explorer as you move through the thick vegetation, listening to bird calls and identifying animal tracks.

Night Safari in the Buffer Zone: For the passionate wildlife tracker, we offer a night safari in the buffer zone to wind up your day after the morning and afternoon safaris. Consistent sightings of wolves have given this distinct wildlife experience the informal title of the "Wolf Safari". Beyond wolves, this area of the buffer zone offers regular sightings of spotted deer, jackal and sambar. Visitors safety being a top priority only five jeeps are operated per night and due care is undertaken not to unnerve the wildlife. Tours leave at 7 p.m. in the evening and return at 11 p.m.

Note: Book the night safari tickets in advance and their naturalist will do the needful.

Star Gazing: Miles away from the distractions of civilisation, the sky above the Vannraj is clear and free of pollution giving one excellent visibility of the night sky. The expert will guide you through the twinkling heavens, pointing out stars, constellations and planets while sharing tribal stories and how local people have been using the stars for directions while hunting for centuries.
