Facilities

Dining: There are two options for dining you can choose from:

• Woodville Palace’s charming garden restaurant called 'The House of the Rising Sun' and a fun fact attached to it is — Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan inaugurated it. Made out of clear glass, the place is located in the sprawling gardens of Woodville Palace and is surrounded by bamboo and deodars.
• The Hollywood Bar (started in 2004), is an ode to a bygone era, an ideal place to sip your cocktail and become nostalgic.

Activities: Woodville Palace is one of the few Palace hotels in India where the original Art Deco has been preserved till date. From the masonite and palazzo flooring of 1938 to the original bathroom fittings and lights, every artefact is in excellent condition. Works by the celebrated Franc Lloyd Wright, the father of modern architecture and neo-art deco, are also on display.

There are also walks, treks/attractions you can go to nearby: Heritage walk to Prospect Hill, Shimla State Museum, Chadwick Falls, Jakhoo Hills, The Ridge, Naldhera, Kufri and many more.

Shimla is easily accessible either by air, by rail or by road. The Shimla Airport is located in Jubbarhatti, 22 k.m. from Shimla and has direct flights from Delhi. The nearest major railway station is located in Kalka, 96 k.m. from Shimla and is well connected by fast trains from New Delhi and Chandigarh. From Kalka, one can take the famous ‘Toy Train’ to Shimla - a journey of approximately of 7 hours. Alternatively, one can opt to drive and enjoy the scenic route. Shimla enjoys excellent road connectivity from nearby major cities such as New Delhi (350 k.m.), Dehradun (230 k.m.) and Chandigarh (115 k.m.). Woodville Palace is just half a mile from the "Heart of Shimla" or the Shimla Mall.
