Nestled in Sri Lanka’s highest elevated village, Shanthipura, the bungalow is your home in the countryside.
The property - Reflection Of The Nourished Heritage
The Oliphant Estate was established in 1848, making it the first ever tea estate in Sri Lanka. The property was owned by Sir Anthony Oliphant who was the 8th Chief Justice of Ceylon in 1838. In 1886, Sir Anthony’s son, Laurence Oliphant established The Oliphant Bungalow with its rich heritage that spans over 150 years. When you stay at Oliphant, you savour a variety of fresh tea produced by the Kelani Valley Tea Estate. You can also bring your Favourite tea back from the tea boutique which is located right outside the The Oliphant Bungalow.

7-day Change of Heart Refund Policy: We always have one deal better than the other. So we understand your change of heart. Within 7 days of purchase we’ll happily give you an option to cancel your booking, with a full refund, as long as the cancellation date is at least 30 days prior to the arrival date. For cancellations after 7 days of a purchase, the hotel’s cancellation policy and penalty applies.
Hotel Cancellation Policy: A cancellation 14 days prior to the date of arrival will incur a full payment. A no show at the day of arrival will also incur charges equivalent to a full stay.
Maximum Guest Capacity: The maximum room capacity for luxury room is two adults and one child (aged below 12 years) or three adults. See the ‘Extra Guest Policy’ and ‘Child Policy’ for more details
Extra Guest Policy: One adult (aged 13 years or older) may stay for a surcharge of USD 50 per night in Luxury rooms.
Child Policy: One child (aged below 12 years) may stay for a surcharge of USD 23 per night.
