Day 1: Welcome to the land of picture postcard landscapes

As you land in the charming city of Siem Reap, a spirit of calmness gathers you. The smiling faces at the airport will build the mood for a memorable trip. Proceed to your hotel after a meet and greet session. The day is at leisure, so rest if you must or explore the areas around on foot, interact with locals and feel Cambodia.

Day 2: A day dedicated to temples but not pilgrimage

After breakfast, we begin our visit with Angkor Wat, which translates to ‘The Temple City’. Surrounded by a huge moat and high walls, with an excellent masterpiece of carvings, and reliefs, this place is prized to Cambodia as what the Taj Mahal is to India. With a delightful lunch at local restaurant, we proceed towards the causeway, flanked by Demons and Gods, to the South Gate of Angkor Thom. Up next is the iconic Bayon Temple, depicting the everyday life of the bygone age with extensively carved reliefs, it is the second main temple of Cambodia. Led by an impressive causeway, Baphoun Temple is an enormous Hindu mountain temple and world’s largest jigsaw puzzle, from the 11th century. Further along the way, we experience the grandeur of Khmer Empire at its height at the Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King. Ahead of that, is the fascinatingly and mysteriously beautiful Sacred temple of Ta Prohm, a Buddhist temple bound by massive roots of huge trees and has been more well-known to the world ever since the famous Tomb Raider Movie was filmed. Next on the list, Banteay Kdei Temple, a citadel of monks’ dating back to the 12th century. Witness the most beautiful point for the last rays of the day at Srah Srang, a 1000-year-old lake also known as the Royal Bath. We end the tour with a visit to Sunset Pre Rup Temple. Back to town, International Buffet dinner with Khmer traditional show at a local restaurant and overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 3: Explore the bygone era

Scrumptious breakfast at the hotel, and we prepare for the excursion to Phnom Kulen or the "Lychee Mountain". Declared as a National Park, this holy mountain is amongst the many spectacular mountain ranges in the country, with a dramatic sight of tons of water cascading down from its 487 m high summit. The spot is located in Svay Leu District and is a two-hour drive from Siem Reap. We make our way up ahead to a 16th-century pagoda at the top of the hill, which is home to Reclining Buddha, and is known for its carvings. The place is also familiar as “Valley of Thousand Lingas” with impressive carvings of over 1000 Lingas etched on the sandstone riverbed and banks ahead. The place gives you an experience of nature and culture alike. The waters are regarded as sacred, and it’s a pilgrimage to the people of Cambodia.
