 Kumily is the main town that’s 4 kilometres away from the Periyar boat landing point, 160 kilometres from Kochi, 108 kilometres from Kottayam, 106 kilometres from Munnar, and 140 kilometres from Madurai. You can always visit the sanctuary via a jeep safari, boating or trekking.

The property - Conservation and Contemporary Luxury

Implementing minimalism and aesthetic principles in their design, the interior of Poetree soothes the eyes. Awarded the Leading romantic resort by SATA (South Asian Travel Awards) in 2017 and Best Holiday Accommodation by Indian Hospitality Awards in 2015, Poetree is surrounded by picturesque plantations and scenic beauty.

Poetree was established with a motto of conservation of natural resources. Keeping that in mind, the resort structure was built of rock and rubble from the barren land it used to be. The walls, plastered with sand and mud, and thatched roofs are built from elephant grass by the local Mannan tribe. With minimal air-conditioning and lighting required, just 32 trees were cut while building the resort. Even that was compensated for by planting over 435 fruit trees in the vicinity afterwards.

Hotel Cancellation Policy: All cancellations will be completely free and qualify for a 100% refund in the form of FABcredits, provided it is done at least 7 days prior to the check-in date. Past that, any cancellation, including a no-show on the day of arrival, will incur a full payment. Refunds in the original mode of payment would be possible; however, would incur a 3.5% transaction charge.

Validity: Each package is valid for two adults.

Maximum Guest Capacity: The maximum room capacity is two adults and two children (aged below 12 years) or 3 adults. See the ‘Extra Guest Policy’ and ‘Child Policy’ for more details.

Extra Guest Policy: Where applicable, an extra adult can stay at a surcharge of INR 4200 for 2 nights, with an extra bed and inclusions available in the package, payable at the resort directly.

Child Policy: Where applicable, a child aged between 0 - 5 years may stay free of charge, a child aged between 6 - 12 years may stay at a surcharge of INR 2689 for 2 nights, these charges include an extra bed and inclusions available in the package, payable at the resort directly.
