In today’s day and age where lives have become busier and people are running a race to compete and earn a good living, taking a break from the monotonous life is important too.
And for a true family person that I am, my happiness lies in my husband & my kids. So, this year I decided to take my holiday break to Bali. After researching & going through a bunch of properties in Bali, I gave my heart to Sanctoo Villas. Yeah, all my heart! It’s not just a villa, it’s a sanctuary.
You must be wondering, why? Well, there are a bunch of reasons. Are you ready to experience my journey?
To begin with, we booked a one bedroom garden pool villa where unlike other properties, Sanctoo offers free stay for kids (under 12 yrs) and that was like a boon for us! And the cherry on the cake was that the property was just a stone throw away from Bali Zoo. Considered among the top 25 zoos in Asia, according to Trip Advisor, it was one of the items on my checklist.
We took our flight from Delhi to Denpasar Airport and were welcomed by Sanctoo Villas’s representative with a car (airport transfer available at a surcharge). A beautiful one-hour drive was totally worth it as they gave us a cool towel to relax and fresh fruits to munch on!
As we entered the property, Sanctoo’s friendly staff pampered us with a 10-minute massage while we sipped on our welcome drink and trust me, it was relaxing. We were later shown to our villa which is set amidst the lush tropical garden. This 300 sq.m garden view villa was absolutely perfect for my family. Grand service by the resort was provided during our check-in. My husband and I enjoyed our complimentary non-alcoholic mini-bar in our room. The staff was courteous enough to provide some fresh juice for my kids. Refreshed and armed with the extra spurt of energy, we were ready to take on the day!
My favourite part was when the kids enjoyed their splash and dip in the private pool. As we all know, who isn’t hungry after swimming! So we headed for our breakfast buffet. With a variety of scrumptious local and international food options, our tummies were subjected to an absolute delight. Our King-size bed was looking extremely welcoming after the meal which we embraced with grace. The royal Balinese interiors left me and my family in awe of this luxurious accommodation.
What happened next?
We took the free shuttle service to downtown Ubud (a 20-minute drive from the resort) to explore some popular landmarks in the city like Ubud Palace, Ubud Market and Bali Museum. After spending our time shopping and picking up some Bali souvenirs, we headed back to Sanctoo.
Our evening was made special as the property treated us with a gastronomical dining experience — we took our intimate dinner on the lawn (available at a surcharge) with kids. The lawn was surrounded by a hidden canyon river and was a perfect setting for a truly family dining experience. Sanctoo staff decorated the place with candles & flowers were set on the grass and along the pathway. A waiter was given to us for the evening. But don’t worry, we were given complete privacy and were offered a bell so we may instantly summon assistance at any time. This truly magical experience is one not to be missed.
What did we do the next day?
While the kids were still sleeping, my husband and I woke up early and grabbed our floating breakfast! Yes, our beautiful day began with food served to us in our pool while we both enjoyed our swim. Isn’t that romantic? It totally was!
As we booked the resort for 2 nights, our last day was dedicated to our kids. We explored the wildlife with free unlimited Bali Zoo access and a visit to Kampung Sumatra, including an animal encounter, bird show and access to the kid's water park. Apart from this, we also availed some out-of-this-world experience at Bali Zoo.
For those unaware, Bali zoo was one of the most unique zoos we have been to. The property is tucked away in a jungle and is just a stone-throw away from Sanctoo Villas. It was a total action-packed day for us.
And post that, it was time to rejuvenate our senses! Put our kids to bed for a small nap and my husband and I headed for a 60-minute Balinese massage. Combining organic natural and pre-blended ingredients for the skin, and to top it — the lightweight, nongreasy pure Grapeseed and Safflower oil for our body restored our energy levels, uplifted our mood and spirits!
As we came back to the room, the dinner was served to us at our own villa outside next to the pool. Feeling the evening breeze and hearing the crackling waterfall with delicious Indonesian cuisine — the candlelit meal gave us an incredibly intimate family time.
And that’s where our beautiful holiday came to an end. What are you waiting for? Do visit this award-winning property for a luxurious holiday with your family, where the kids stay free of charge and avail all the modern facilities and unique experiences at Sanctoo Villas, Bali.
